Former Project Sensible researcher wins the Semikron Young Engineer Award 2018

On 22 March in Stuttgart, Diogo Varajão, a former researcher of INESC TEC’s Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) and the current head of R&D at startup AddVolt, was was awarded with the SEMIKRON Young Engineer Award 2018.

This award was attributed to his PhD research which was developed within Project SENSIBLE and consisted of the development of the single-stage Bidirectional and Isolated AC-DC Matrix Converter for Battery Energy Storage Systems.
